[6-2009] New albums available for free download
Just as I've done before, I've decided to share some more of my
music just for free in order to promote and spread my own work.
This time the albums are shared at Jamendo
website under Creative
Commons License. They are Obscurity
and Melting
Point, two of my most acclaimed early works. These
albums are pretty special for me because they marked my path to
follow and my serious entering into dark and tribal ambient styles.
Just follow the links or hit the images to jump jamendo site to
listen or download the albums.

[3-2009] - Hipertóxica |
|
Hipertóxica, is a new raw improvisation and video,
this time more into dark/industrial fields with additional
abstract and manipulated images for visual ambiences. This
track is based on the groove generated with a Korg MS2000
old school step sequencer while playing a Nord Rack 2x for
leads and tweaking parameters on both machines. The video,
again, mixes images from the recording session with some infrared
captures I did this same evening. Recorded as it sounds on
december 2008 at The BlueRoom by Ran Kirlian.
Description: sequence/drone jam with Korg MS2000, Clavia
Nord Rack 2x & Korg Kaoss Pad 3.
All color and infrared video images recorded with Sony V3
and edited with Sony Vegas.

[11-2008] Interview with Ran Kirlian at Sonic Inmersion
| Bert Strolenberg
does an interview with Ran
Kirlian at Sonic Inmersion, his website dedicated to electronic
music. During the interview, I answer to questions regarding
to my music, The Blue_Room studio and about
my current and future projects.
A few pictures of me at The Blue_Room illustrate the interview,
where part of the gear are visible in the current studio room
(not blue btw). They are located at The
Blue_Room gallery.
Some more promo pics were also done by my girlfriend using
my modded IR camera under a cloudy december afternoon.

|
 |
They were finally not used on
the interview, but I found them nice and fitting the atmosphere
of my music. A little gallery can be found at the Ran
Kirlian Portraits gallery on the photography section.

[8-2008] - Atmosfear |
| Another real-time
recording is now online with it's own video, this time mixing
images from recording session with some infrared captures
I did some time ago. Recorded on sunday, june 15 2008 at The
BlueRoom by Ran Kirlian.
Story behind the video:
I use to like to visit desertic and abandoned places. One
evening I was taking pictures in a place where nobody was
except me while, suddenly, a strange kid appeared and wanted
me to follow him to a place where he said there was something
important buried I must discover. After some minutes walking
in silent, we arrived to an old ruined school and then, he
asked me to cross a door to find his friends but not to look
at the right door, because there was the bad teacher room...
Synths:
- Korg MS2000: noise waves
- Oberheim OB12: big space pads
- Alesis Micron: filter pads
- Sounds like voices, bells, storms & other strange noises
added on final mix.

[2-2008] - Diaspora |
| Diaspora,
a real-time improvisation performed and recorded on sunday
feb 17 2008 at The BlueRoom. The video also
includes scenes of sunshines and cloud storms recorded by
myself from a window of my home. This is my first attempt
to record a video around my music, so excuse me if it looks
too amateur.
As it can be seen on the video, this is part of BlueRoom
studio. Among the synths there, the ones I play for the track
are: Access Indigo Redback, Access Indigo, Waldorf Microwave
XT, Roland JP-8080. Tribal groove shoot via computer while
recording the session. More information about my gear and
more synthesizer facts can be found on my blog Celiar
Structures.

Forthcoming releases
In this silent months I've also did several studio upgrades (as
well as moving from house). My studio gear increased and I recorded
several stuff. Some of these tracks will be in development for some
months yet, while some will be released very soon. I've also improved
some old recordings I specially like and I hope you enjoy. Here
is a list of forthcoming albums to be released during 2008.
- Phobos & Deimos: double album,
space ambient recorded between 2005-2007.
- Private Rooms I-III: 3 cd collection
of unreleased tracks. Rare, experimental and study sessions recorded
between 2003 & 2007, not outtakes from albums.
- Materia: tribal, atmospheric and experimental
soundworlds recorded between 2005-2007.
- Live Act: new private live performance
full of new compositions will be released just at it was recorded
live.
Previous releases
Sleeper
- based on a privated live performance, this album tries
to explore some personal experiences around lucid dreaming. Combining
both atmospheric and tribal sides, it describes a new path into
my music and my own way of living. Source material was recorded
in summer 2003 and treated during next moths before the end of the
year.
Elements
in Motion - after 3 years of exploring new paths
in the dark-ambient side of my music, this album collects some tracks
that I prepared slowly and deeply. I wanted to do my best on it,
and close friends points it as my best album til now. Mostly dark
and drone based, source material comes from field recordings, voice
and found sounds. Synthesizers have here a minimal presence.
Melting
Point (Remastered BlueRoom edition) - reedition
of one of my most acclaimed albums, now improved in sound quality
including a redesigned cover art.
Obscurity
(Remastered BlueRoom edition) - another reedition
with improved sound quality including redesigned cover art based
in my 3D art explorations.
Limbo
(Remastered BlueRoom edition) - Improved too,
now includes 4 new unreleased tracks from the time it was recorded.
Also includes redesigned cover art.
Isolated
Landscapes (Remastered BlueRoom edition) -
remastered version of a collection of old tracks, including a bonus
track of 20 minutes from same era. Redesigned cover art.
